ATLÉTICO LA PAZ COMES BACK WITH A POINT FROM CANCÚN

The team from Baja California Sur tied 2-2 against the current champions of the Expansion League. Michelle Benítez and Ulises Jaimes scored for the Paceños; then Cancún came from behind with goals by Benjamín Galindo and José Rodríguez.

In the first minutes Cancun had more of the ball but the first danger came from the visitors. Los Paceños took the lead in the 22nd minute with a goal by Michelle Benítez. The Iguanas made a mistake at the start and "Rasky" recovered the ball to beat the goalkeeper and make it 1-0.

Club Atlético La Paz increased the lead in the 43rd minute. Flavio Santos made two "sombreritos" inside the area and served the ball for Ulises Jaimes to score the second. In compensation time, Cancún had a chance to tie the game through a penalty, but Jonathan Estrada saved Raúl Castillo's shot.

In the second half, the fortune did not smile on the visitors and the Iguanas ended up with a tie of two goals from the penalty spot. The first goal was scored by Benjamín Galindo at 75 minutes and the second by José Rodríguez at 89 minutes.

The scoreboard unchanged and the Quintana Roo and Baja California Sur teams shared the points. With this result, the Paceños are now undefeated in six consecutive matches and are in fourth place in the table with 15 points.

In their next match, Club Atlético La Paz will face Mineros at Carlos Vega Villalva Stadium. The match will be played on Thursday, March 7 at 6:05 p.m. (La Paz) and 7:05 (Central time)
