Paceño setback in Celaya

Club Atlético La Paz was overcome by the "Toros" in their visit to the Miguel Alemán Valdés Stadium.

Paceños and Toros met on the second match of the Clausura 2024. The team from Guanajuato won 4-2 to get their first victory of the tournament.

Celaya started the match dominating possession of the ball and took an early advantage on the scoreboard. In the 6th minute, Bryan Mendoza got between the two centrals and headed in a cross to make it 1-0.

Club Atlético La Paz woke up in the match and started to have their opportunities. In the 32nd minute, the fortune was on the visitors' side. Nahúm Gómez sent a center looking for the area and defender José Múñoz ended up scoring an auto-goal after a failed communication with Nicolás Vikonis.

The home team responded immediately and made it 2-1 in the 33rd minute with a goal by Michell Rodríguez. The "Toros" started the second half with a good dynamic and made their presence on the scoreboard at the 50th minute and 66th minute. "La Cobra" Mendoza scored from a penalty and Adolfo Dominguez scored after a good association in the area.

Atletico La Paz continued to fight to turn the score around and Michelle Benitez made it 4-2 after a breakaway and center from Jonathan Parra. The Paceños had other chances but the scoreboard did not move any further.

In their next game, the Baja California Sur team will receive Tepatitlán at Guaycura Stadium. The match will be played on Tuesday, January 23 at 8:05 p.m. (local time)
