Roberto Campos and Mauricio Yáñez had their first minutes in the Expansion League.
Club Atlético La Paz registered two debuts in the first day of the Clausura 2024 tournament. Roberto Campos and Mauricio Yáñez were the players who had their first minutes in the division.
Both players had their formative process with Mazorqueros FC, a project that laid the foundations of what today is Club Atlético La Paz.
Roberto Campos is 20 years old and plays as a central defender. He had his professional debut with Mazorqueros in the Third Division and accumulated a total of 59 games with the team from Ciudad Guzmán.
After being crowned TDP League champion, he joined the ranks of Rayados de Monterrey in the U-20 category. Campos' debut in Liga de Expansión came on Matchday 2 of the Clausura 2024 against Toros de Celaya.
On the other hand, Mauricio Yáñez plays as a right back and is also 20 years old. He began his professional career with Mazorqueros at the age of 15 and played 119 games with the Jalisco institution (108 in Liga TDP and 11 in Liga Premier).
Yáñez was also champion of the Third Division with Mazorqueros before joining Club Atlético La Paz in the Clausura 2023 tournament. After a few months with the Liga de Expansión team, he made his debut against Tepatitlán in Day 3 of the Clausura 2024.
With these debuts, Paceños have 12 players making their debut in the Expansion League, all of them Mexican. The other Aurinegro´s debutants have been Carlos Moreno, Abdiel Agüero, Pedro Ruiz, Diego López, Gibran Velasco, Josué Arana, Germán Cota, Luis Gutiérrez, Morrison Palma and Pedro Aguilar.
