First victory from La Paz in the Clausura 2024 Tournament

Club Atletico La Paz won 2-0 over Tepatitlan for their first victory of the tournament.

The team from Baja California Sur scored three points against Alteños of Tepatitlán with goals from Nahúm Gómez and Edgar Alaffita. With this result, they have four points and are temporarily in third place in the table.

Matchday 3 action featured a clash between South Californians and people from Jalisco. The home team started with a good dynamic and dominated possession of the ball. The Paceños had the most important chance of the first half with a shot against the crossbar by Flavio Santos.

The tie lasted until the end of the first half. Raúl Rico moved his players and made several substitutions in the second half, including the debut of Daniel "Keko" Villalva, the first foreign player in the history of Club Atlético La Paz.

The first goal for the locals came in the 73rd minute through Nahúm Gómez. Luis Gutiérrez sent a long pass behind the defense and "El Rayo" scored in front of the goalkeeper. The scoreboard was closed in the 88th minute with a goal by Edgar Alaffita after a rejection by the Alteño goalkeeper.

Club Atlético La Paz has now scored in 24 consecutive matches at the Guaycura Stadium. In their next match, Aurinegros will travel to Guadalajara to play against Tapatío in matchday 4 of the Clausura 2024. The match will be played on Thursday, February 1 at the Akron Stadium.
