PACEÑO SETBACK IN ZACATECAS

Paceños and Mineros faced each other at Carlos Vega Villalba Stadium for their Matchday 9 of the Clausura 2024. The "Zacatecanos" came into the match with the need to reverse a bad streak and ended up winning 3-0.

The home team took the field with the attacking soccer that made them the best offense in the last tournament. Fortune did not smile on the Aurinegros in the first few minutes and a penalty was marked against them after a handball in the area. José Hernández took the penalty, deceiving "Cabu" Estrada to make it 1-0.

Mineros continued to stalk the visitors' area and Luis Razo scored the second goal of the match in the 27th minute after getting behind the center backs and scoring one-on-one. The 3-0 lead came a few minutes later; Hernández scored his second goal of the game with a long-range shot into the corner of the Paceño goal.

In the second half, Club Atlético La Paz made changes and began to show a better side but could not generate situations of maximum danger against the solid defense of the "Zacatecanos".

With this result, the Baja California Sur team ended a 6-game unbeaten streak but remains in fourth place in the table with 15 points. The Paceños will have the opportunity to recover from this setback at Guaycura Stadium.

Club Atlético La Paz will host Correcaminos de Ciudad Victoria on Sunday, March 17 and Alebrijes de Oaxaca on Friday, March 22. Both games will be played at 6:05 p.m.
