Paceño Reinforcements: Meet Horacio Torres

Horacio Torres is the second reinforcement of the "Paceños" for the Clausura 2024 tournament of the Expansion League. Horacio Torres Martínez is originally from Saltillo, Coahuila, is 24 years old and plays as a central defender.

Horacio did his entire formative process in Pachuca's basic forces. The Saltillo defender played a total of 177 games in the "Tuzos" affiliates and was crowned champion of the Sub-15 International Tournament in 2015 and of the Sub-17 Liga MX in the 2016 season.

His debut with the first team of the Hidalguenses came in 2019. Torres made his debut in a Copa MX group stage match against Atlante under the orders of Martín Palermo.

After his time at Pachuca, Horacio moved to the ranks of Mineros, a team with which he consolidated his position in the Expansion League. He arrived in Zacatecas in 2020 and at the age of 24 he has already played more than 100 games in the silver category of Mexican soccer.

Horacio is a strong and intelligent central defender. These characteristics allow him to recover balls in the 1vs1 or cutting passing lines. He is also a defender who knows how to play out and has good kicking technique.

Torres has scored 13 goals in the Expansion League. Despite not being a tall central defender, he is a player who has scored goals from set pieces and is a good penalty taker.
