The team coached by Raúl Rico obtained three points in their Matchday 4 and will return to La Paz to face Atlante on February 7.
Club Atlético La Paz overcame Tapatío 2-0 at the Akron Stadium with goals from Nahúm Gómez and Horacio Torres. After this positive result, the Paceños now have 7 points and are in second place in the Expansion League table.
The visitors came out with a lot of intensity to face a very dynamic team like Tapatío. In the first few minutes there were no attempts to get close to the area by any of the sides.
The scoreboard opened at the 15th minute of the match. Nahúm Gómez received a ball on the edge of the area and took a shot that was deflected by the local defense, preventing goalkeeper Eduardo García from reacting in time. This was the second consecutive game in which "El Rayo" Gómez scored for the Paceños.
In the 36th minute, the Rojiblancos were down a man after Juan Aguayo was sent off. The 1-0 score remained until the end of the first half.
In the second half, Tapatio showed a good side despite the numerical inferiority. Club Atlético La Paz responded with several changes from the bench and came back to level the match and then closed the scoreboard at the end.
Horacio Torres scored the 2-0 on a corner kick in the 71st minute. The Aurinegro defender made a great reception inside the small area and shot from the right to increase the visitors' advantage.
In its next match, Club Atletico La Paz will receive Atlante at Estadio Guaycura on Wednesday, February 7, at 6:05 p.m.
